Yesterday, 18 school children were reportedly ill and rushed to the hospital after eating food supplied to their school by the State Government under the state’s government-sponsored school feeding programme, O-Meal. The affected children are pupils of St. James Primary School B, Owoope, in Osogbo, Osun State Capital. Twenty-seven members of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressive Congress, APC. Affected lawmakers who initiated impeachment against Governor Sim Fubara cited division in the PDP as reason for their defection to APC. The defected awmakers also adopted a resolution condemning the withholding of funds for Management of the House of Assembly, another reason for their defection.
