Recall that in April last year, Moon Ray News reported that one of the young lawyers from Ugep, Sam-John Usani Esq. has won his case against BOUYGUES Construction, the 7th richest construction & engineering company in world.
In a similar manner, this young and promising lawyer has again, defeated the leading fintech company in Nigeria, Opay Digital Service Limited, in court over the unlawful restriction placed on his Client’s account.
In a judgement delivered by Hon. Justice A. I. Kutigi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on the 15th April, 2024 in Suit No: CV/HC/ABJ/5032/2023 Between Nkanu Achi Evemili v. Opay Digital Services Limited, Sam-John Usani Esq., counsel to the Applicant had approached the court over the breach of the Right of the Applicant to own properties.
Counsel submitted that the restriction placed on the Applicant’s account amounts to a fundamental breach which entitles the applicant to the reliefs sought. The Court in its wisdom entered judgment in favour of the Applicant while making it Order that the restriction placed on the applicant’s account be lifted. The court further awarded damages against respondent for the unlawful restriction.
Sam-John Usani hails from Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State and it is speculated that he has not lost a single case so far, in his legal practice.
