Cross River South Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Appointed Into Senate C’ttee On Road Infrastructure
The senator representing Cross River State Southern District, Sen. Asuquo Ekpenyong has been appointed into the Senate ad-hoc committee on Road Infrastructure. Asuquo’s appointed was announced yesterday by the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio. The committee is saddled with oversight on road infrastructure and its immediate focus would be resolving issues plaguing federal roads and erosion-sites.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and some civil society organizations are currently reviewing all aspects of the electoral process, including activities before, during, and after the 2023 general elections. The review is being conducted by a team of INEC officials, as well as representatives from civil society organisations and other stakeholders. INEC’s decision to hold a post-election review is in line with its longstanding practice of doing so after every general election. After 50 days in office, President Bola Tinubu has sent the list of his ministerial nominees to the Senate, and to be read out today by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio. The Guardian gathered that the Clerk of the National Assembly, Magaji Tambuwal, received the letter containing the list yesterday. As mandated by law, the President is obligated to submit the list of ministerial nominees within 60 days of assuming office.
