House of Assembly member representing Yakurr 1 State Constituency, Hon. Cyril Omini has donated cash prizes to winners of the Cyril Omini Lokaa Annual Debate (COLAD).
The competition, tagged ‘the place of culture and language in an emerging modern african society’ aims at encouraging the adaption and fluency of Lokaa language among students in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Contested by six(6) secondary schools drawn from Ugep, Ekori and Idomi communities, Eko-Inika Science & Technical School, Ekori came first, Community Secondary School, Idomi took second and Girls Secondary School, Ugep came third.
Hundred thousand naira (N100,000), fifty thousand naira (N50,000) and Twenty thousand naira (N20,000) was awarded to the first, second and third winning schools, respectively.
This initiative is in collaboration with Hillary Daniels Foundation.
