The Nigerian Police have absolved former Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere of alleged diversion of $2.5 million. Mr. Nsima Ekere alongside Messrs Techsel Products Limited, Mr. Idorenyin Udo Ekere, Dr. Aniekan Udo Ekere and Utibe Idorenyin Ekere were, between 2011 and 2014 accused of conspiracy, stealing and diversion of the sum of N118 million ($2.5 million as at then) belonging to Akwa Savings & Loans Limited. A 100 level student of Microbiology, Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) whose name was Sarah Redemption has reportedly committed suicide. The incident occurred Friday evening at an off-campus lodge near Family and Friends Hotel area, opposite Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The new Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy has caused serious panic as it announces date to close down all accounts that fail to comply. According to the policy, all bank accounts in Nigeria must be linked to a BVN and a corresponding NIN or be closed down completely.
