President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated a Cross Riverian and 21 others to serve as Commissioners in the National Population Commission (NPC).
The names of the nominees have been read on the floor of the Senate and upon ratification, Mr. Alex Ukam will be Cross River State Commissioner in the NPC board.

- Alex Ukam (Cross River)
- Blessyn Brume-Ataguba (Delta)
- Jeremiah Nwankwegu (Ebonyi)
- Tony Aiyejina (Edo)
- Ejike Ezeh (Enugu)
- Abubakar Damburam (Gombe)
- Uba Nnabue (Imo)
- Dogon Garba (Kaduna)
- Aminu Tsanyawa (Kano)
- Yori Afolabi (Kogi)
- Olakunle Sobukola (Ogun)
- Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Ondo)
- Mary Afan (Plateau)
- Ogiri Henry (Rivers)
- Saany Sale (Taraba)
Additionally, President Tinubu further requested that the red chamber approves the nominations of Babajide Fasina (South-West), Enorense Amadasu (South-South), and Bashir Indabawa (North-West) as NPC commissioners.
Also, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) was given two weeks to provide a report on the nomination by the Senate, which was chaired by Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of Senate.
