JUST IN: 27 Rivers House of Assembly Members Defect To APC, Give Two Reasons For Their Defection
Twenty-seven members of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressive Congress, APC. Affected lawmakers who initiated impeachment against Governor Sim Fubara cited division in the PDP as reason for their defection to APC. The defected awmakers also adopted a resolution condemning the withholding of funds for Management of the House of Assembly, another reason for their defection. Findings revealed the 27 are all loyal to FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and the Minister is on his way to join them in the APC.

Calabar Carnival Commission Introduces Choir Competition, Sets Millions Of Naira As Grand Prize
To spice up the maiden carnival of Gov. Bassey Otu, the Cross River State Carnival Commission has introduced a new contest in the 32-day long street festival. According to the Commission, every Sunday, church gospel bands will gather to sing. Landlords in Calabar, the Cross River State capital have protested the governor’s directive asking all landlords, especially those whose houses are along the carnival route to embark on emergency rehabilitation and repainting of their houses. A 100 level student of Microbiology, Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) whose name was Sarah Redemption has reportedly committed suicide. The incident occurred Friday evening at an off-campus lodge near Family and Friends Hotel area, opposite Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
