On Sunday being November 26, 2023, one of the aircrafts of United Airlines left Lagos for Abuja but incidentally landed in Asaba, Delta State.
For this, the Head of Corporate Communications of United Airlines, Achilleus Chud-Uchegbu has come out to say that bad weather was the reason the plane could not land in Abuja.
“The incident was as a result of bad weather in Abuja, so the pilot temporarily diverted the flight to Asaba,” Chud-Uchegbu said.
The confusion was heightened when the cabin crew announced their landing saying that they have touched down Abuja, only for the passengers to realize they were in Asaba, not Abuja.
Eventually, they were all flown to Abuja, their main destination.
