Yesterday, July 14, a trainer aircraft labelled FT-7NI and belonging to the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) crashed in Makurdi, Benue State. Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet who is NAF’s public relations and information director said late Friday that the plane was having its routine training exercise when it crashed. Gabkwet further said that the two pilots onboard the crashed plane survived and that no life was lost to the incident. However, Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar has set up an inquiry committee to investigate the cause of the crash.

General pastor of Redeemed Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has revealed that he would like to die the day his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye dies. The plan by President Tinubu to pay ₦8000 monthly to 12 million households as fuel subsidy removal palliatives is commendable. It gives a human face to the harsh economic necessity of petrol subsidy withdrawal. But to help our nation grow, I would suggest to the President that he ties the ₦8000 monthly payment to the condition that children in recipient families MUST attend school and have their payment vouchers signed by the principal/headmaster of their school proving that they attended school throughout that month, failure of which they will not be paid. A Catholic Priest, Joseph Wanjiku was found dead in a hotel room with his girlfriend, Ruth Nduhi on Saturday. Joseph, who is a priest in the Archdiocese of Nairobi, Kenya died after his lover informed the hotel management on Sunday morning that the clergy was experiencing dizziness and lost consciousness.
