Ali Bukar Dalori, the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is currently in Abuja to resume office. Dalori emerged as the party’s Acting National Chairman following Abdullahi Ganduje’s resignation on Friday.
Here are five things to know about the new APC National Chairman:
- Born in Dalori town, Konduga LGA, Borno State, he rose through local politics—starting as a councillor, serving as Local Government Chairman, and twice in the Borno State House of Assembly—before entering national party leadership.
- In August 2023, Dalori was elected Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), replacing Abubakar Kyari.
- He’s actively involved in relief efforts—donating ₦10 million and supplies to fire victims in IDP communities (Wanori, Nguluri), and ₦50 million to flood victims in Maiduguri. He also provided condolence funds to victims of suicide bombings in Konduga.
- He chairs the board of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi (appointed Feb 2025) , and received an Honorary Doctorate in International Relations & Diplomacy from IAEC University, Togo.
- On June 27, 2025, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, President Tinubu appointed Dalori as Acting National Chairman of the APC, pending the party’s National Executive Committee meeting.
