Political heavyweights from the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting the re-election bid of Distinguished Senator Eteng Jonah Williams in 2027.

This pledge was made over the weekend at the Ikom Township Stadium, where prominent political figures gathered for Senator Eteng’s homecoming ceremony.

Among the key attendees were former Senate Leader Sen. Victor Ndoma Egba; former Senate Committee Chairman on Finance and current Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh; Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem; APC State Chairman, Barr. Alphonsus Eba; former PDP State Chairman and newly appointed Executive Director of Finance at the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), Amb. Sony Abang; all three House of Representatives members from the district; past and serving Commissioners; all six Local Government Chairmen; and other influential political stakeholders.

Former Governor Dr. Clement Ebri, who chaired the event, conducted a voice vote for Senator Eteng’s second-term endorsement, which passed unanimously—signaling a unified stance among the district’s political leadership.

Overwhelmed by the massive turnout and the strong consensus for his continued representation, Senator Eteng, who serves in the 10th Nigerian Senate, expressed confidence that with such resolute support, his second-term aspiration is already well on course. He also took a moment to appreciate his constituents for their steadfast backing.

“Today’s commitment is not just words—it reflects deep satisfaction with my people-oriented representation in the Red Chamber.

“There is no credible opposition in this district, and your unified pledge to sustain my leadership is resounding. Every son and daughter of Central Cross River will celebrate this unanimous decision,” Senator Eteng affirmed.
