Chairman of one of the local government councils in Cross River State has presented a record-breaking N10 Billion naira as budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
The chairman, Hon. Pst. (Mrs) Mercy Nsor, who is heading the Ikom LGA council christened the appropriation bill ‘Budget of Consolidation’, submitted to the local legislative for scrutiny and possible approval.
She explained that the Budget was divided into Recurrent and Capital Expenditures, with a strong emphasis on addressing immediate needs while investing in long-term developmental projects in line with the State Governor’s legacy in harnessing potentials and judicious utilization of resources.
“This Budget is packaged to implement projects and programs that will boost our people’s confidence in the system and vis-a-vis the improvement of their wellbeing in the face of the economic challenges.”
Hon. Nsor added that the Budget was a bold step toward addressing the current challenges confronting the Local Government Area, stating that it would also lay a foundation for the creation of a sustainable creation of self-sustaining and independent institution.
