The speculation of the inclusion of some chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party, in President Tinubu’s ministerial nomination list is further dividing the already divided PDP.
According to unconfirmed sources, ex-governors, Wike, Ortom and Fayose of Rivers, Benue and Ekiti States, respectively are being considered for appointments by APC President Tinubu while they still retain their membership in PDP.
At the moment, there are two visible poles in PDP; one, loyal to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and the other, loyal to former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.Atiku’s pole of the PDP national leadership has said that any of its members who accepts appointment from APC will be exterminated — having Wike, Ortom and Fayose in mind, arguing that it would be a betrayal of the party and that if they remain in PDP as appointees of an APC president, the party is undermined and absolutely ridiculed.
