On Tuesday, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Oduaghan accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of enlisting former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to orchestrate her recall and assassination.
Speaking at a rally in Ihima, Kogi Central, Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed that Mr. Akpabio initially approached Usman Ododo to initiate her recall.
However, the current governor reportedly declined, stating that the public strongly supported her. Unhappy with this response, Mr. Akpabio allegedly turned to Mr. Bello, promising to finance both her recall and assassination.
According to Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator Asuquo facilitated a meeting at the Hiltons, where plans were discussed, and funds released.
She further alleged that Mr. Akpabio instructed Mr. Bello to ensure her assassination occurred locally, to make it appear as though it was carried out by the community. Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan disclosed that the police had been informed of these threats, though she had not made them public until now.
