This is Cynthia Osam, a young woman from Iyamoyong in Obubra Local Government Area, who successfully underwent two life-saving surgeries on Wednesday. These procedures were made possible by the strengthened healthcare system under the Cross River State Health Insurance Scheme.
The surgeries were carried out by Dr. Ekon Francis at General Hospital Obubra.
Discussing Cynthia’s condition, Dr. Francis revealed that she had been diagnosed with acute appendicitis and degenerated fibroids, both requiring immediate surgical attention.
“We treated a patient with acute appendicitis and degenerated fibroids. The surgeries were successful,” he stated, highlighting the essential role of health insurance in enabling prompt medical care.
