The University of Calabar, UNICAL has again suspended another top lecturer, Prof. Cyril Ndifon who is the Dean of Faculty of Law, over alleged sexual assault on female students.
According to Ndifon’s suspension letter signed by the school’s registrar, Mr. Gabriel Egbe, the suspension takes effect today, August 17, 2023.
Ndifon’s suspension followed a protest by some law students in the institution who accused the Dean of constant sexual assault on female students.
It would be recalled that in 2016, the same Ndifon was also suspended after being accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old 400 level student.
The suspension was later validated by the National Industrial Court in 2016.
Recall too that in January, 2023 the University Management suspended one Dr. Sylvester Ohadoma who, until his suspension was the Head of Department of Pharmacology.
Ohadoma’s suspension letter which was signed by the university’s registrar, Mr. Gabriel Egbe said Ohadoma was involved in unethical practices against students of the institution.
