The Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu has ordered the disbursement of N5 billion to the 36 states (summing up to N180 billion) of the federation and an additional 5 trucks of rice to each for the 36 states.
This was disclosed today in Abuja after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting for the month of August presided over by the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum explained that the gesture was part of measures to bring temporary solutions to the high cost of living occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal.
Exposing that the money was to help each state purchase 100,000 bags of rice and beans among other items.
