{"id":6956,"date":"2025-03-27T10:55:25","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T10:55:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moonraynews.com\/?p=6956"},"modified":"2025-03-27T10:55:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T10:55:26","slug":"tinubu-issues-fresh-warning-to-peter-obi-over-recent-criticism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moonraynews.com\/?p=6956","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu Issues Fresh Warning To Peter Obi Over Recent Criticism"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a warning to former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi over Obi\u2019s recent criticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Obi, a former presidential candidate, had accused Mr Tinubu\u2019s government of political brigandage and corruption, claiming that democracy has collapsed in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presidency took an exception to his claim via a statement by Mr Tinubu\u2019s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who condemned Mr Obi\u2019s \u201cexaggerated excoriation of the incumbent president.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI will urge him to watch what he says and restrain himself from playing to the gallery,\u201d the presidential aide warned. \u201cHis hyperbolic remarks, suited for headlines, have been made without deep reflection and lack a solid logical foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He berated Mr Obi as a \u201cdiscontented and disgruntled\u201d politician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Onanuga reasoned that if democracy had collapsed, as alleged by Mr Obi, the former Anambra governor would not enjoy free speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHow can a democracy that has strengthened over the past 26 years be said to have collapsed?\u201d said the presidential spokesman. \u201cOnly a discontented and disgruntled Peter, who benefits from the&nbsp;very&nbsp;free speech democracy provides, could perceive such a democratic downfall through his lens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added, \u201cIf democracy had indeed collapsed, as Peter claims, and we were living under a regime antithetical to democratic principles, he would not have been able to&nbsp;make his comments&nbsp;on Monday at Emeka Ihedioha\u2019s colloquium.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a warning to former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi over Obi\u2019s recent criticism.
