The spokesperson of the Senate, Yemi Adaramodu, has last night issued a statement over the reports on Guardian Newspaper, Sahara Reporters and other national dailies that the Senate President collapsed yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, Tinubu and other dignitaries had gathered at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja for a colloquium to mark the 61st birthday of the Senate President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSenate President Akpabio collapsed today after his 61st birthday colloquium in Abuja while seeing the President off,\u201d sources at the event said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A source present at the event who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, \u201cThe Senate President must have been tired. He was seeing-off Tinubu after the colloquium and the next thing was that he slumped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was when people saw that he had slumped that he was rushed for medical attention\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another source also buttressed it, saying, \u201cAfter the Senate President escorted the President alongside some other senators, he came back and sat down when he slumped. He was resuscitated and then rushed to a private hospital not too far from Transcorp. \u201cHe is still in the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, when contacted Adaramodu said, \u201cNothing of such happened.  Everybody saw him today, he was hale and hearty. I sat behind them today and was even part of the team that saw the President off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
